L’étude du mouvement dans un champ gravitationnel permet de comprendre comment les objets célestes interagissent sous l’effet de l’attraction universelle. Dans ce chapitre, nous explorerons les lois de Kepler, qui décrivent le mouvement des planètes autour du Soleil et plus généralement celui de tout objet soumis à une force gravitationnelle centrale. Nous établirons la démonstration rigoureuse de la vitesse orbitale d’un corps en mouvement et de sa période de révolution, en appliquant la loi universelle de la gravitation de Newton. Nous verrons comment ces concepts permettent de décrire des trajectoires circulaires et elliptiques, ainsi que les liens entre énergie mécanique et stabilité des orbites.
